While you’re picking up pens and notebooks, swing by a few clothing stores to get a few of my fashion essentials to make #studentlife a little more bearable. [/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]

get some cute pajamas

[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”24px”][vc_column_text]Getting sleep while you’re a student is hard enough, there’s no reason you have to slum it in ugly PJs. A set of cute sleepwear makes going to bed on time just a little more fun, and they’ll keep you looking cute even during the inevitable dorm fire drills at three in the morning. Plus, pajamas get so little wear and tear that you don’t need a high quality or expensive set. I love cotton pajamas because the fabric breathes so well, but you can get any old thing that suits your fancy. [/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]

invest in a few pieces of quality workout gear

[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”24px”][vc_column_text]Finding time to work out is hard on a busy student schedule, but having a good outfit will make it way more fun and give you that on-trend student athlete look… even if all you do is half-hearted cardio for ten minutes.

Check to make sure that your workout clothes meet your rec center’s dress code, so you don’t distract a poor, hapless man with a scandalous glimpse of your belly button. [/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]

have a casual dress and a nice dress on hand at all times

[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”24px”][vc_column_text]Dresses are great, because they’re a complete outfit in one step. You can throw on a dress while half asleep and roll out the door knowing you look okay.

I actually have a whole post about the five most essential dresses you should have on hand, but for students I think you could basically boil it down to just two essentials: a nice dress and a casual dress. Both should be easy to wear and make you feel excellent at very short notice.

School events can sneak up on you, and there are sometimes formal events that pop up without much warning, so a nice evening dress that’s not too dressy is essential. At the same time, a comfortable shirt-dress that you can toss on and have a complete outfit is a necessity for days you wake up late.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]

go neutral on your backpack

[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”24px”][vc_column_text]Look, I’m usually all for fun patterns and colors, but I’d recommend a neutral, dark-colored backpack. You’ll be carrying your backpack with you every single day, so I prefer a color and pattern that will look good with most of your outfits. A dark color that will hide stains and scuffs. Save the fun patterns for pouches and laptop cases, and go for fun keychains if you want to accessorize. [/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]

buy some new underwear already.

[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”24px”][vc_column_text]Someone has to say it: you need some new underwear, and back to school is a great time to do it. You know that ratty old bra you’ve been wearing for years? I’m here to tell you that you deserve better. Plus, the more underwear you have, the longer you can go between laundry sessions! [/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
